JCOD: Journal of Community Outreach and Development is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by Ikatan Dosen Pasar Modal Indonesia (IDPMI). The journal serves as a scientific platform for lecturers, researchers, practitioners, and community development activists to disseminate evidence-based community service, empowerment activities, and social innovation.
Journal Aims & Mission
Promoting Measurable & Sustainable Community Impact
The main objective of JCOD is to foster the advancement of community service by publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed articles that demonstrate measurable and positive changes in target communities. The journal bridges academic research and real-world application, translating theoretical knowledge into practical solutions for society.
Every manuscript published in JCOD must emphasize problem-solving methodologies, partner participation, technology transfer, and systematic impact evaluation.
Primary Scope & Thematic Areas
Financial Literacy, Capital Market & Economic Empowerment
Activities focused on enhancing economic resilience, financial inclusion, and business capacity within communities, including:
- Financial literacy, personal financial management, and investment education for the public.
- Capital market education, stock investment socialization, and financial inclusion programs.
- Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs / UMKM) empowerment, mentoring, and marketing strategies.
- Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) management, cooperative empowerment, and local economic development.
- Sharia economy, social finance, and Islamic microfinance empowerment.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) & Social Innovation
Programs addressing global and local sustainability challenges through collaborative interventions, including:
- Poverty reduction, food security, and sustainable agriculture initiatives.
- Environmental conservation, waste management, circular economy, and renewable energy adoption.
- Disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and community resilience building.

Out of Scope Criteria
Manuscripts Outside JCOD Scope
To maintain publication focus and quality, JCOD does NOT consider manuscripts that fall under the following categories:
- Purely theoretical or laboratory-based research papers without direct community implementation.
- Descriptive event summaries or activity reports that lack systematic evaluation data, impact metrics, or participant feedback.
- Manuscripts that do not demonstrate active participation or collaboration with target community partners.
- Opinion pieces, news articles, or unverified promotional literature.
