Plagiarism Screening Policy

JCOD: Journal of Community Outreach and Development maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against academic dishonesty, plagiarism, duplicate submission, and text recycling. All manuscripts undergo mandatory automated plagiarism screening prior to peer review.

i Plagiarism Detection Procedure

Mandatory Desk Screening via Turnitin

Every manuscript submitted to JCOD is screened using Turnitin anti-plagiarism software during initial desk evaluation. Manuscripts must be checked prior to being forwarded to Section Editors or assigned to independent peer reviewers.

The overall Turnitin similarity index must be below 25%, and similarity from any single published source must not exceed 3%.

Direct & Unattributed Copying

Unacceptable

Verbatim copying or paraphrasing of text, data, figures, tables, or ideas from another source without explicit citation, quotation marks, and proper reference acknowledgment.

Self-Plagiarism & Text Recycling

Restricted

Reusing substantial portions of the author's own previously published work (including conference proceedings, book chapters, or prior articles) without appropriate attribution or permission.

Redundant & Duplicate Submission

Prohibited

Submitting the same manuscript (or substantially identical work) simultaneously to multiple journals, or publishing the same community service research results across multiple publications.

DESK REJECTION Manuscript is immediately desk-rejected without peer review due to excessive overlap.
Severe Plagiarism
Direct copy without citation
REJECTION & SANCTION Immediate rejection, formal warning sent to author's institution, and 2-year ban from publishing in JCOD.
